Jackie Club Unit Director Signs CFL Contract
Jasper Faulk is currently the Jackie Boys & Girls Club Unit Director. We are excited to say that he has signed a CFL contract with the B.C. Lions to play as a Defensive Back (DB). Don’t worry, he will come back to work for the Jackie Boys & Girls Club during his off season. He is one of the most genuine and kind people you could ever meet.
He has gone through several months of intense training, 5 days a week. Self-Discipline has played a huge part in Mr. Faulk’s journey. Many times he wanted to just give up, but his family history and experiences motivated him to push harder, when wanting to quit. When he felt like he was ready and fully prepared to reveal what he could do, he attended a tryout for the CFL and opened important eyes. Mr. Faulk says, “It took a lot of understanding of how God operates for me to be humble and patient about another opportunity.”
Mr. Faulk is from Lafayette, Louisiana. He was a member of the Granberry Boys & Girls Club as a child and teen. He attended and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, where he majored in Therapeutic Recreation and played college football.
Mr. Faulk had this to say, “A life of trials, tests, and struggles are only obstacles of training that is preparing you for the place God wants to take you.” I want the kids to understand, “It doesn’t matter how you grow up or who you grow up with, let your family be only an inspiration for you to do better in life even if your family has made wrong decisions the majority of your life.”
