Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow started this event a few years back as a fun way to have a softball tournament, homerun competition and opportunity to bring in lots of cash for operations for the Boys & Girls Clubs. Chief Gallow was a member of the UL baseball team from 1982-85 and supports the Club in Opelousas in many ways.
How many home runs can you hit? The Home Run Derby Competition is open to all! We even have one for the kids. Participants get 10 swings; the goal is to hit more home runs than Chief Gallow. The winner of each competition will receive a t-shirt and a trophy.
