Girls & Boys Clubs International Day of the Girl

Great Futures Start with Her

Did you know that Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana started as a boys-only organization? 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of recognizing girls as Club members and officially becoming the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. In honor of this milestone and International Day of the Girl, we’re elevating girls and continuing to do whatever it takes to give every girl equal access to a great future.

When girls are supported during adolescence, research shows they can change the world. Our SMART Girls program helps girls build self-esteem, positive relationships with others and skills to live healthy. Partners in our communities such as Jr. League of Lafayette, Jr. Auxiliary of Abbeville, the Berry Queens in New Iberia and Delta Signa Theta sorority in Opelousas serve as mentors and positive role models to the young girls who attend the Clubs each year.

89% of girls who attend Boys & Girls Clubs say they don’t give up when something is really hard.

88% of Club girls feel they can stand up for what’s right, even when others disagree.

82% of Club girls believe that they can make a difference in their community.

Every girl deserves an equal opportunity to reach her full potential. But with the extraordinary challenges facing families today, too many girls are struggling just to get through each day. Your donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana will provide girls in need with life-changing mentors and programs to overcome today’s obstacles and ensure great futures are still possible. Help us level the playing field to give more girls a great future by making a donation today. Research shows that when girls receive support during adolescent years, they can change the world — as confident youth and tomorrow’s leaders. Your gift provides life-changing programs, mentors and experiences for girls in need. www.bgcacadiana.com/donate
